Well our first day was not really a day at all, but more of a time zone warp whilst being crammed like sheep into long metal flying tubes. We started at 4:30 am in LA, and sleepily tried to round all the last details before the car picked us up and took us to LAX. International terminals always have a strange, frantic vibe. Even though many of these people, including ourselves, have traveled many times before, for some reason once they cross the threshold of international flight all logic, common sense, and patience disappears. I guess in hindsight the original check-in debacle was an omen on how the next 24 hours would unravel. Afer standing in a few different lines we finally received our boarding passes, although the ticket agent seemed to be confused by our confirmation number and flight details. Nonetheless we checked in made it though security without the full cavity strip search and had a few hrs to kill. Oddly enough we ran into Josiah on our way though the terminal to grab some breakfast. It was nice to have someone see us off. . .
Plane rides suck. . . the smells, the headaches, the loudspeaker when you try to sleep, the really really bad movies. . . but I am trying to stay positive as it is our honeymoon. . .I just really want to get there already. I think each hour we get closer my anxiety is replaced by excitement....enough with this plane ride already . . .
